Kansas is encouraging everyone to file their state taxes online: for a paper form you have to call and order a form, and a refund from filing by paper could take up to 6 months.

You need to Bring:
Refund amount from 2008 tax filing. Your personal identification number (PIN) is last year’s refund or balance due amount. Don’t have it, call 1-800-525-3901
 
2009 Federal income tax return 

All information regarding any Household Income. Examples are: all W-2 statements, taxable & nontaxable wages, salaries, self employment, Interest and dividends, earned income credit, social security, SSI benefits, disability payments, any retirement benefits, unemployment, alimony, welfare and temporary assistance payments, foster home care payments, gambling winnings, jury duty payments, all 1099 forms, Dependent care provider information, estate taxes paid, etc. 

All Household members’ personal information. Such as name, social security number, date of birth, etc. 

Banking information if you would like to have your refund directly deposited into your bank account. Bank account number, the routing number, and the banking institution name, type of account (checking or savings) 

Renters—all landlord/property owners contact information, and know if the property rented was subject to property taxes 

New car buyers—documentation showing sales tax paid 

Homebuyers—closing statement showing purchase price and closing date
