Louisburg Library is a district library and its own taxing authority, run by a seven-member board of trustees elected by the public at the Annual Meeting. By statute, the Annual Meeting is held the first Tuesday in March. Members serve four-year terms and meet monthly on the fourth Thursday at 6pm in the library conference room.
Anyone interested in receiving an email notification with meeting dates and times and a board packet attachment may submit their request to: [email protected]. It may take up to 72 hours to complete.
The board is currently looking for an energetic member who wants to serve the library district. Anyone interested in serving on the Louisburg Library Board of Trustees may complete an application and submit it to the library director. The forms are available at the library front desk and available to download on the right.

Term: 2021-2025
I live with my husband Glenn on a modest horse ranch just north of Louisburg, close to three of our four children. As a young mother, I volunteered for the Frank Laubach “Each One Teach One” literacy program for adults. After completing my BA at Wichita State University and receiving my MFA in Creative Writing, I began my career first as creator and director of a Vocational English learning center for refugees of the Viet Nam War and next as a written communications instructor at several universities. While teaching in Northern California, I founded the Mendocino Coast Writers Conference and helped establish a homeless shelter and the Mendocino Coast Children’s Fund. In Chicago, I directed marketing and communications for Northwestern University’s $1.6 billion capital campaign, communications for the Illinois Institute of Technology, and grant writing and communications for Chicago Youth Centers. After retiring and moving to Louisburg in 2013, I spent three years substituting for all grade levels. I joined the Louisburg Library Board with the intention of supporting the library’s communications efforts as they continue to add programs and explore options for gaining much-needed space for public gatherings and additional services for their district of 9,000 patrons.
